Skinning the cat of resistance.

Hi Ernie:

Welcome to NAP! That's great tech question. Resistance is at the heart of change. Overcome resistance and you can really go places.

Hey Cyndy: You landed on the most powerful square. The no intention intention square. The heart of Emoclear tech and the center of most feelings-oriented tech that suceed. It is allowing the feeling or belief to be there and not try to keep it or get rid of it.

Stuckness is created by resistance. Permit the resistance to dissapate and clearing and integration takes place.

There are many ways to skin this resistance cat:

*Really deep, deep relaxation makes it harder to resist.

* Circular breathing is an extremely potent pill for resistance. Why? It creates theta and essence which dissolve resistance. This form of breathing also bring relaxation and the speeding up of energy in the body which inturn leads to balanced meridians. Resistance is anchored in the body and these anchors are released by high lung breathing. This mechanism is not very much understood. It works well however it works.

*Balanced meridians from energy work release resistance. The mechanism is not well understood.

*Bringing our felt sense of acceptance, love, or gratitude does much to release resistance. Welcoming and seeing what good things a resisted object does can evaporate resistance.

*Essence states or states where we are in full connection with our essential self(core self) will evaporate resistance. Whole brain synchrony and Satori are other examples.

*Delabeling and labeling can alter our relationship with what we're integrating or clearing. This can change resistance or aversion drammatically. Calling something energy, up energy, neutral energy, and down energy undercuts resistance.

*Dissociating or stepping back and observing something we're clearing can cut down on reistance. This can be seen in the VK/D and Tibetan style emotional meditations.

*Full feeling by its very nature starts to desensitize resistance.

*Trimming down Low Frustration Tolerance or I can't stand it-itis will undercut resistance. Direct exposure helps here. Getting up and taking direct action really overcomes resistance.

*Forgiveness can undercut resistance.

*Making a target less absolute through cognitive restructuring can remove resistance.

*Asking your unconscious directly to let go of resisting through prayer or meditative awareness can cut down on resistance.

*Noticing fine detail in a target can release some of the resistance. Our attention is drawn away from unconscious aversion.

*Mocking something up(creating an identical image) can undercut resistance.

*Head holds can undercut resistance through balancing meridians and focusing energy in the cortex. The exact mechanics of this are unknown. It works.

*Neurovascular holds can chill out the flight/fight centers of the brain. This cuts down on really large resistance.

*Noticing what positive function a feeling or emotion does can make for less resistance.

*Noticing the space surrounding a target or a visualization of an open sky can greatly reduce resistance.

*Looking back on a target from the future and imagining what it would be like when we accepted it or loved it, will remove resistance.

*Watching our internal processes from the observer position will cut out resistance. Watching it from a nonviewpoint viewpoint evaporates resistance.

*Fully paying attention and experiencing a feeling's intuitive message cuts out resistance.

*Getting an overall felt sense of something releases resistance.

*Placing a silly smiley face frame around a target cuts down on resistance.

*Noticing possibilities or options other than your target can make for less resistance.

*Toning a feeling can release resistance.

*Reviewing incidents from start to finish can create less resistance.

Feel free to add to this list. I'm sure there must be other approaches.

Happy holidays to everyone in the U.S.A.!

Take care, Steve
